Golf enthusiasts and philanthropists alike will converge in Bonita Springs, Florida, for the highly anticipated 2nd Annual SWFL Celebrity Golf Invitational, set to take place from November 22-24. Hosted at the prestigious Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, this year’s event promises an exceptional blend of competitive golf, star-studded evenings, and charitable spirit, all in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The Invitational will feature play on two of the area's premier golf courses: the stunning Saltleaf Golf Preserve, a Raymond Floyd design, and the challenging Old Corkscrew Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design. These venues provide the perfect backdrop for a weekend of high-caliber golf and community engagement.
Tournament founder Ed Roland of Collective Soul and tournament chairman Clarke Rheney are bringing their shared passion for golf and dedication to St. Jude to this year’s event. Spectator tickets are now available for the Friday and Saturday events, with opportunities to secure individual golf spots and foursomes for the full weekend.
The festivities kick off with the St. Jude Jam on Friday, November 22, featuring a dynamic lineup of 8-10 artists performing alongside the acclaimed band SIXWIRE. The full artist lineup will be announced in the coming weeks, promising an evening of unforgettable musical performances.
On Saturday, November 23, the St. Jude Soiree will shine with red carpet appearances by tournament celebrities, silent and live auctions, and a heartwarming dinner and entertainment by SIXWIRE. This gala event aims to further support St. Jude’s mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® The night will also highlight a special St. Jude patient family, underscoring the profound impact of the hospital's work.
Ed Roland, known for his enduring role as the frontman of Collective Soul, brings a deep personal commitment to the cause. "It’s an honor and privilege," says Roland, reflecting on his 30-year career with the band. "Just being able to do what you love, it’s an honor and a privilege." Since their debut in 1994, Collective Soul has captivated audiences with timeless hits like “Shine,” “December,” and “The World I Know,” solidifying their place as one of America's most beloved rock bands.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the beneficiary of this remarkable event, continues to lead the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. As the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center dedicated solely to children, St. Jude has significantly improved childhood cancer survival rates from 20% to over 80% since its inception. The hospital’s mission is clear: to ensure no child dies from cancer, and its groundbreaking research and treatments are shared worldwide to help save more lives.
Thanks to the generosity of donors, families at St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus solely on their child’s well-being.
