It was another sell-out evening, with 4,600 fans packing the stadium, bringing energy and enthusiasm as they rallied behind their hometown team. The electric atmosphere showcased the growing passion for professional soccer in Naples, reinforcing the club’s deep connection with the local community.
FC Naples celebrated their first win of the season with forward Karsen Henderlong securing goals in the 22nd minute with an assist from Jayden Onen, and the 41st minute with an assist from Ian Cerro. He opened the scoring with a composed finish inside the box and doubled the lead before halftime with a clinical strike. The defense remained solid throughout the match, limiting the opposition’s chances and securing the team’s first clean sheet of the season.
Henderlong reflected on his two-goal performance and the team’s effort, saying, "We scored these goals because we had good communication on the field. Everything came together at the right time. It was just incredible, and this was just the beginning."
FC Naples maintained a 65.7% passing accuracy, making the most of their time in possession. Defensively, the team stood strong, shutting down attacking threats and celebrating their first win of the season.
Head Coach Matt “Gaffa” Poland praised the team’s performance, stating, "This win at home in front of our fans was incredible. The performance from the guys was great. The determination, the ability to score goals early and then hold on and not give up a goal. It was just all around a brilliant performance for the team."
